Alleged Balkan ‘war criminal’ found living in Ireland

A Balkan man who was accused of war crimes in the 1990s has been extradited to Croatia after being arrested in Ireland.

Vojislav Buzaković, who is an alleged former member of a pro-Serbian militia during the Balkan wars in the early 1990s, was charged in absentia back in 2007 by prosecutors in Croatia. He was accused of being in the group that abused civilians and illegally imprisoned them over a six month period between 1991 and 1992.

It is understood that Buzaković was arrested in Ireland back in February, with his arrest due to the EU Schengen Information System (SIS), an EU database of international suspected criminals and…
