LONDON, United Kingdom — The Balkans, a region in Southeast Europe comprising countries like Bosnia-Herzegovina and Bulgaria is one of the focal points where people on the move, coming from countries like Syria or Iraq, try to enter the European Union (EU) in search of a better life. People on the move’s precarity includes physical and material privations during their journey in the Balkans. The Borgen Project interviewed Barbara, head of communication for No Name Kitchen (NNK), a movement founded in 2017 that seeks to help people on the move, mainly outside formal refugee camps.
