A new hiking route will soon connect the Balkan countries of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, beginning in the culture-rich city of Dubrovnik.
The trail will connect the popular Croatian destination with the village of Međugorje over the border, which mainly attracts religious tourism.
The project could help combat issues of overtourism in Dubrovnik – recently declared the most-touristed city in Europe – and bring greater attention to undervalued destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
