EIB Global invests record 1.2 bln euro in W. Balkans in 2023

February 9 (SeeNews) – EIB Global, the financial arm of the European Investment Bank (EIB) for activities outside the European Union, said on Friday it invested a record 1.2 billion euro ($1.3 billion) in the Western Balkans in 2023, aiming to mobilise over 6 billion euro of new investments in the region.

Last year’s investment, which was up by 365 million euro compared to 2022, went to sustainable and energy transition projects that support the region’s European Union accession, economic, climate and connectivity efforts, EIB Global said in a statement.
